A consortium of Dutch real-estate industry leaders is investing 1.5 million euros in Climate-KIC start-up Physee.
Physee, established in 2014 by Willem Kesteloo and Ferdinand Grapperhaus, developed the PowerWindow and the SmartWindow. The PowerWindow has solar cells in the window frame to convert part of the light into electricity. With the SmartWindow the glass is equipped with sensors for temperature, light, pressure and air quality. The innovative Windows can be used in offices and homes.
The start-up has already contributed to various energy-efficient offices, such as the head office of the Rabobank in Eindhoven and the accommodation of the Goede Doelen Loterij in Amsterdam. Physee will use the investment to scale up production, develop new technology and expand it to Europe.
Physee participated in Stage 1 and 2 of the Climate-KIC Accelerator program and is currently in final phase of Stage 3.
